Understanding ETEEAP Degree Offerings

The Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) provides a structured pathway for professionals to earn Baccalaureate degrees (Level 6 in the Philippine Qualifications Framework). Unlike traditional enrollment, the programs listed here are specifically curated for individuals who have already mastered the core competencies of their field through years of actual practice.

It is important to note that a Higher Education Institution (HEI) being "ETEEAP-deputized" does not mean they can offer any degree through this scheme. CHED grants deputization on a per-program basis. For example, a university may be authorized to offer a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration via ETEEAP but may not have the same authority for Engineering programs unless they meet specific criteria, such as being recognized as a Center of Excellence (COE) or Center of Development (COD).

As of May 2026, only six higher education institutions (HEIs) have been formally re-deputized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to continue offering degree programs under the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP). Their re-deputized status allows them to assess and recognize prior learning, work experience, and professional competencies of qualified individuals seeking to earn a college degree through ETEEAP. These institutions are:

Holy Angel University
Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation, Inc.
Cebu Institute of Technology–University
University of the Cordilleras
University of Baguio
Romblon State University

Meanwhile, other previously deputized institutions are currently under "For Recertification" status and are awaiting the completion of CHED's recertification process.

Selecting the Right Program for Your Career

Choosing the correct degree is the most vital step in your ETEEAP journey. Since the program relies on the equivalency of work experience, your professional background must align closely with the curriculum of the degree you are pursuing. Generally, at least five years of relevant experience is required to demonstrate mastery of the program's learning outcomes.

Common Academic Disciplines
