LCCB ETEEAP Model of Excellence 2026: Search for Outstanding Graduates

A diploma is a finish line for some people. For ETEEAP graduates, it is often a starting gun.

Think about who walks this path. They are supervisors, marketers, front-liners, HR practitioners, hospitality workers and small business owners who spent years proving themselves on the job before the paperwork caught up. When they finally receive that CHED-recognized degree, they do not stop. They keep building, mentoring and serving. LCCB wants to put four of them in the spotlight with the LCCB ETEEAP Model of Excellence 2026.

This post walks through what the award is, the four program categories, the full list of nominee requirements, and the reasons a nomination can fall through.

What the award recognizes

The official name is LCCB ETEEAP Model of Excellence 2026. It was established to honor graduates whose lives and professional accomplishments show that education is not merely a credential. It is a continuing commitment to excellence, personal growth, service and contribution to society.

That last part is worth pausing on. The search is not a contest for the highest salary or the fanciest job title. A nominee might be a manager, an entrepreneur, a professional in practice, a community volunteer or someone doing meaningful work in a field related to their degree. What counts is a record of significant accomplishment, backed by documents, and a reputation that holds up under scrutiny.

Only one Model of Excellence will be proclaimed for each program category. Four categories, four people. The bar is meant to be high.

The four program categories

The recognition is program-specific, so a nominee competes with graduates of the same degree. The four categories are:

  1. LCCB ETEEAP Model of Excellence, Bachelor of Arts in English Language Studies
  2. LCCB ETEEAP Model of Excellence, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Marketing Management
  3. LCCB ETEEAP Model of Excellence, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Human Resource Management
  4. LCCB ETEEAP Model of Excellence, Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management

Who can be nominated

The requirements are strict, and a nominee must satisfy every one of them. Think of it as a checklist where a single missing item changes the outcome.

First, the nominee must be a bona fide graduate of the LCCB ETEEAP, and must have graduated from one of the four programs included in the search. Second, the nominee must be currently active in work or service. That can mean being employed, self-employed, practicing a profession, managing a business, engaged in community service, or otherwise contributing to a field reasonably related to the academic program.

Third, the nominee must have demonstrated significant professional, organizational, entrepreneurial, academic, community or social accomplishments, and must have kept a reputation consistent with professional integrity and ethical conduct. Fourth, those accomplishments must be provable. The nominee needs to provide documentary evidence supporting everything stated in the nomination.

Then come the process requirements. A nominee must be nominated by at least one fellow LCCB ETEEAP graduate, must formally accept the nomination, and must submit the required credentials within the prescribed period. Finally, the nominee must consent to the use of submitted information and photographs for legitimate institutional purposes related to the search and recognition.

Notice something about the nomination rule. It has to come from a fellow graduate. In other words, the search runs on peer recognition. If you know a classmate who quietly became the go-to person in their industry, you are exactly the kind of person who can put their name forward.

What can disqualify a nomination

Excellence is not only about achievements. It is also about honesty, and the exclusions make that plain.

A person may not be considered if they are not an LCCB ETEEAP graduate, or if the nominee does not accept the nomination. The same applies when the required documentary evidence is not submitted. A nomination can also be set aside if the information in it is found to be substantially false or misleading. Lastly, a nominee who is found, through appropriate verification, to have engaged in conduct seriously inconsistent with the values of the institution may be excluded.

The takeaway is simple. Be accurate, keep your records in order and do not stretch the truth. Verification exists, and it applies.

The whole search is anchored on three LCCB values: Unity, Charity and Truth.

Unity points to what graduates build together, whether in a team, an organization or a community. Charity speaks to service and generosity beyond one’s own career. Truth is the thread running through the integrity requirements and the documentary evidence. Together they describe a kind of graduate who is not only skilled, but trustworthy and giving.

Why this matters to the ETEEAP community

For years, many ETEEAP graduates have had to answer a quiet question: is a degree earned through assessment of experience really the same? Under Republic Act No. 12124, the program is now a permanent part of the country’s tertiary education system, and an award like this puts real faces behind that policy.

Stories do what statistics cannot. When a graduate in marketing, hospitality, human resources or English language studies stands up as a model, an aspiring applicant who has been doubting themselves can finally picture the road ahead. That is why we keep collecting them in our success stories section, from Matteo Guidicelli’s BSBA Marketing Management journey to Lowin Anacleto Balito’s twenty-year wait.

How to get ready

Whether you plan to nominate someone or you suspect a classmate may nominate you, a little preparation goes a long way. Start gathering proof now. Certificates, employment or business records, community involvement, awards, recommendations and anything else that backs up your accomplishments will be useful. Keep clean copies, and make sure the details match across documents.

Also remember that the deadline for submitting credentials is set by the prescribed period, so confirm the current schedule and nomination procedure directly with LCCB. This article summarizes the eligibility rules and does not replace the official announcement.
